The Phoenix Project
An Introduction to Color Therapy

While the visible colors make up a very, very tiny part of the electromagnetic spectrum, they serve as one of the most important frequency gateways into the body.

We absorb colors (and their benefits) not only through the eyes, but also through the skin.

One vital need to the human body is sunlight, which carries not only the visible spectrum, but others such as ultraviolet - which in appropriate amounts is not just healthy, it, too, is vital.

Treatment Of Specific Diseases With Color

The main areas in which color therapy has proved successful are those that involve mood, emotion and some aspects of mental performance. However, adherents of the therapy claim that it can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including the following:

  • Allergies

  • Anemia

  • Anxiety

  • Arthritis

  • Asthma

  • Depression

  • High Blood Pressure

  • HIV and AIDS

  • Hyperactivity

  • Insomnia

  • Low Blood Pressure

  • Migraine

  • Nausea and Vomiting

  • Neuralgia

  • Obsession

  • Stress

The practice of color therapy for various conditions are described alphabetically. In order to understand the description, it is important to recognize that in most of the cases, the therapists will try to influence the chakras by shining light at them directly. This is augmented by light at other parts of the body. We have given the chakras and the color to be use don the chakras as well as the augmentation therapy. The concept of chakra therapy is covered elsewhere. But we will summarize the key concepts here for your review.

Key Colors

Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red are the primary colors. Color practitioners also may work with combination of colors.

Rules About Color Interchange

1. Red, orange, yellow can be used interchangeably
2. Blue, indigo, and violet can be used interchangeably
3. Green can be used where blue is beneficial; (blue and green are interchangeable).

Key - Chakras

Colors are closely related to chakra therapy (as well as sound), so brief mention is made here of the chakra elements.
